KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission has recorded a statement from a senior armed forces officer as part of its probe into alleged misuse of funds.
Chief Commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki said the officer was summoned to the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya.
“He has been called in to finalise the investigation into allegations against him,” Azam said when contacted.
He confirmed that no arrest had been made at that time and the interview was ongoing.
Azam added that further developments in the case would be shared in due course.
Media reports yesterday quoted Azam confirming the officer is expected to be charged in the near future.
It is understood this case is separate from the MACC’s ongoing investigation into the former Army chief.
