MANILA, Philippines — Former WBC featherweight world champ Mark Magsayo made a smashing debut in the lightweight class as he scored a fifth round stoppage of Feargal McCrory at the Meta APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada Monday in Manila.
The Filipino fighter battered the Irish with a barrage of punches to start the fifth round, forcing the McCrory's corner to step in and halt the bout after only 21 seconds.
Magsayo, who nearly knocked out McCrory in the fourth round, claimed his 19th knockout win and 29th victory overall against two losses (29-2).
McCrory dropped to 17-2 with 9 knockouts.
