Kota Kinabalu: MV Prince Khalil, a Tawi-Tawi-based designated passenger vessel to provide ferry service linking Bongao Municipality (Tawi-Tawi) and Lahad Datu will arrive at the Lahad Datu Port on Saturday (Sept 30) instead Thursday as earlier announced.

The delay arrival of the maiden voyage was due to Prophet Mohamed Birthday holiday on Wednesday in the Philippines.

According to newly appointed BIMP-EAGA Business Council Sabah (BEBC-Sabah) Chairman Dr Raymond Alfred, the ferry designed to accommodate 350 passengers will set sail from Bongao Port at 9am on Saturday and expected to arrive Lahad Datu Port at noon the same day.

Raymond said Tawi-Tawi Governor Yshmael ‘Mang’ Sali will lead the Philippine delegation comprising top officials from the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) and local businessmen.
