
JOHOR BAHRU – Chants of "Maju Johor" and "Kita Menang" echoed through Barisan Nasional's (BN) main operations centre on Jalan Yahya Awal here as supporters celebrated the coalition's early lead in the Johor state election.
The cheers grew louder as BN secretary-general Datuk Seri Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki announced the latest unofficial results, highlighting the seats where the coalition was leading.
The atmosphere intensified when Asyraf revealed that Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi was comfortably ahead in the Machap state seat.
BN supporters and members of the media began gathering at the Johor Umno Liaison Committee headquarters from 1pm to follow the latest developments in the Johor state election.
Among the BN leaders who had arrived were its chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, secretary-general Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir and Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi.
As of 6.27pm, Asyraf posted unofficial results are as follows:
