SHAH ALAM – Barisan Nasional (BN) is reportedly leading the unofficial Johor state election results after securing 33 state seats as of 6.27pm on Saturday.
The update was shared by Umno secretary-general Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki in a Facebook post.
According to the post, Pakatan Harapan (PH) was leading in seven seats, while Perikatan Nasional (PN), Bersama and Muda had yet to take the lead in any constituency.
However, the results have not been confirmed by the Election Commission (EC) and remain subject to the commission's official announcement after the vote tallying process is completed at all official counting centres.
The Johor state election, today, saw voters across the state cast their ballots to elect representatives and form the state government for a new term.
The EC had earlier announced that the counting of early votes for the 16th Johor state election would begin at 5pm.
