A while back, Coldplay’s Music Of The Spheres World Tour announced that the band would be playing for six nights in Singapore due to high demand. This was an increase from the initial four nights announced.

As their concerts in Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand were quick to sell out, it seems that fans from neighbouring countries have all decided to get tickets for their Singaporean concert.

According to Singaporean digital travel platform Agoda, the platform observed a remarkable 8.7x search increase for accommodations in Singapore during Coldplay’s concerts in January 2024.

According to Agoda, the surge is driven mainly by neighbouring countries Indonesia and Malaysia, who placed first and second in the ranks of searches.

Enric Casals, Regional Associate Vice President of Southeast Asia at Agoda, stated, “Music inspires a great deal of passion, and dedicated fans are truly remarkable as they will travel far and wide to see their favourite acts live.”

“This spike in accommodation bookings is a testament to the undeniable lure of live musical experiences, showcasing their profound impact on travel decisions.”

The data presented is derived from Agoda’s accommodation search data in Singapore, which analyses search trends between June 18 – 20, 2023 for check-in dates on January 23-31, 2024, compared to the same weekdays a week before.
