
Kota Kinabalu: A 65-year-old man died after his Proton Gen-2 veered off the road and crashed into roadside barriers along Jalan Sepanggar near the Jabatan Laut in an accident around 5.30pm, Tuesday.
Kota Kinabalu District Police Chief ACP Kasim Muda said initial investigations indicated the driver lost control of the vehicle, which ended up in a drain on the road divider.
The victim was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries at approximately 6.14pm.
Police are urging all road users to exercise caution, maintain safe speeds, and comply with traffic regulations to prevent accidents.
“We will continue to monitor and strictly enforce traffic laws to ensure safety and smooth traffic flow,” Kasim added.
