Manchester City defender Aymeric Laporte would like to see Zinedine Zidane take charge of France in future.

Former Real Madrid coach Zidane has been mentioned as Didier Deschamps' successor with Les Bleus.

Laporte told RMC: “Zidane as a coach? It would have been good.

"He is a person that I already appreciate on a human level and as a coach. We have seen his results. There is nothing to say, he is very strong.

"What he has done for France makes the heart inevitably swing to one side."
