Manchester City's team bus windscreen was smashed outside Anfield on Sunday.
The vehicle carrying Pep Guardiola's squad to Merseyside for the crunch clash with Liverpool was hit on Anfield Road after the game, reports The Sun.
While the travelling party heard a thud, the damage was not bad enough to affect the journey back to Manchester for the City squad.
However it was only when dawn broke on Monday morning that the damage done to the bus could be properly seen.
It is the third time the champions have seen their bus attacked on a visit to the stadium of their great rivals.
The first time came back in April 2014 after Liverpool had secured a 3-2 victory over City as the coach made its way slowly away from the ground.
It was hit by bottles, stones and other missiles with one source on the bus that day describing it as "terrifying".
City did not make a big issue of it at the time as the game was held around the 25th anniversary of the Hillsborough disaster.
Then four years later, Liverpool fans lined the streets and pelted the City bus as it made its way to Anfield for a Champions League quarter-final first leg.
Footage taken from inside the bus showed the extent of the attack as bricks, bottles and cans were thrown.
