TAWAU: Police have detained a 38-year-old foreign national following the death of his 37-year-old Indonesian wife at a workers’ quarters in Felda Umas 6, Kalabakan, on Monday.
Tawau District Police Chief ACP Rosdi Mat Jusoh said the woman was found unconscious at the house and was pronounced dead at about 8.16pm.
The suspect, who police believe may have injured himself with a sickle, is currently receiving treatment at Tawau Hospital.
Police are investigating the case under Section 302 of the Penal Code and Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63.
The investigation is ongoing, including forensic examination, DNA analysis, medical assessment and post-mortem.
