Man dies after car plunges 80 metres into ravine

A 56-year-old man was killed when his car veered off the old road from Genting Sempah towards Gombak and fell into a deep ravine.

KUALA LUMPUR: A 56-year-old man died after the car he was driving plunged approximately 80 metres into a ravine along the old road from Genting Sempah towards Gombak.

The Selangor Fire and Rescue Department received an emergency call at 10.46pm and dispatched seven personnel from the Selayang station to the scene.

Rescuers located the seriously injured man at the bottom of the ravine, where he was believed to have been ejected from his Perodua Kancil during the crash.

Firefighters managed to extricate the victim from the ravine, but he was pronounced dead at the scene by Ministry of Health personnel at 1.15am.
