TENOM: A man was killed in a road accident involving a Perodua Kembara vehicle and a lorry on the Tenom-Kemabong road at approximately 11.20am on Friday.

Acting District Police Chief ASP Ahmad Razali Shaari, who confirmed the incident, said the 66-year-old driver of the Perodua Kembara was trapped in his seat and died at the scene.

Initial investigations found that the accident occurred due to the Perodua Kembara driver’s negligence, as he lost control and veered into the opposite lane after navigating a bend, colliding with the lorry coming from Jalan Kemabong towards Pekan Tenom.

He added that the Perodua Kembara’s passenger (the driver's wife) sustained head injuries and was taken to Tenom Hospital for treatment, while the lorry driver and his assistant were unharmed.
