A young man performed dangerous stunts in a moving black Mahindra Thar in Gurugram, filmed the act, and uploaded the video to social media. After the video went viral, the police took action.
The Gurugram Traffic police issued a challan of Rs 26,500 soon after the video surfaced.
In the video, the man is seen driving the Thar at high speed in the middle of the road. He opened the driver’s side window and gestured with his hand. The footage shows the Thar from both the rear and the front. The song “Desi Rakhe Chhora Hathiyar” was playing in the background.
The stunt took place in front of Lemon Tree Hotel in Sector 60. The man recorded a 15-second video and posted it online. He could be seen driving the black Thar at high speed.
Another motorist filmed the incident from behind. After a few seconds, the man opened the driver’s side window and waved his hand. He then accelerated rapidly and swerved the Thar left and right, repeatedly changing lanes.
Another clip shot from the front shows him continuing to drive in a zigzag pattern. Throughout the video, he was not wearing a seat belt and failed to maintain lane discipline.
Traffic police spokesperson Vikas Verma said the Thar’s registration number was traced using the video. “A challan of Rs 26,500 was issued. A case will be filed under relevant sections for violating traffic rules and endangering others’ lives,” he said.
“A challan has been issued against Thar bearing registration number HR98F3800 for dangerous driving, use of tinted windows, driving without a number plate, violation of pollution norms, and failure to wear a seat belt,” Verma added.
