PENAMPANG: Police arrested a 31-year-old local man and seized 31 plastic packets containing suspected ecstasy powder weighing 1,060.39 grams and estimated to be worth RM20,150 in an operation here.
Penampang District Police Chief Supt Sammy Newton said the suspect was arrested at an entertainment outlet at about 12.30am.
An initial urine test found the suspect positive for drugs.
Further investigations led police to a bag at a separate location containing the 31 packets of suspected drugs.
Sammy said police would continue to intensify enforcement operations against drug trafficking and abuse to safeguard public safety and wellbeing.
