PENAMPANG: Police arrested a 31-year-old local man and seized 1,060.39gm of powder believed to be ecstasy worth an estimated RM20,150 in an operation here.
Penampang Police Chief Supt Sammy Newton said the suspect was arrested at an entertainment outlet at about 12.30am, with an initial urine test returning positive for amphetamine, methamphetamine and THC.
Following further investigations, police found a bag at a separate location containing 31 plastic packets filled with powder suspected to be ecstasy.
Sammy said the case is being investigated under Section 39B and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
The suspect has been remanded to facilitate investigations.
