
SEMPORNA: A 65-year-old was killed while his passenger was injured when the Toyota Fortuner they were travelling in collided with a lorry at Km 32, Jalan Inagus Semporna-Tawau, Monday.
A State Fire and Rescue Department spokesperson said the department received a distress call at 10.02am via MERS999.
A team from the Semporna Fire and Rescue Station rushed to the scene in a fire engine and an EMRS vehicle.
“Upon arrival, they assisted the two victims trapped inside the Toyota Fortuner. However, the driver was pronounced dead at the scene by a medical officer and his body was handed over to the police for further action,” said the spokesperson.

Read more The other victim who was seriously hurt was given initial treatment by EMRS before being sent to the Semporna Hospital for further treatment.
The lorry driver escaped unhurt.
