
PENAMPANG: A 68-year-old man was burnt to death in a house fire in Kampung Babagon, here, on Tuesday.
The charred remains of the victim, identified as Liew Ah Ngou Liew Sun, was found in the bedroom area of the house.
According to Penampang Police Chief Supt Sammy Newton, no criminal elements were found at the scene.
He said the victim’s remains were sent to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for a post-mortem and the case has been classified as sudden death.

Penampang Fire Station Chief Zeno Tinggalan said they received a distress call on the incident around 9.07am.
“We received a call from who we believe was the neighbour. However, when firemen arrived, the whole house was already engulfed in flames,” said Zeno.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, and no other casualties were reported in this incident.
