
LAHAD DATU: A 54-year-old man died, while two others suffered serious injuries when the car they were in skidded to the road shoulder and overturned at KM32 of Jalan Lahad Datu-Tawau, on Thursday night.
It was learnt that the victim, identified as Rey Davila and his two passengers, Reymar Davila and Rendell Ray Davila were heading towards Tawau from Lahad Datu town in when the incident occurred at about 9.25pm.
District Police Chief, ACP Dzulbaharin Ismail said the incident happened when the driver lost control.
The impact of the crash caused the driver and his two passengers aged 27 and 22 to be trapped inside the vehicle.

“Both injured were taken to Lahad Datu Hospital while the victim’s body was taken for a post-mortem.
According to Dzulbaharin, blood samples were drawn for the alcohol and drug test.
Dzulbaharin also urged those who witnessed the incident to contact the Traffic Investigation Officer, Insp. Humaidi Harun at 089-881255 or come to the Lahad Datu Police Headquarters.
He also reminded all road users to always be cautious and apply safe driving to avoid any mishap or endangering other road users.
