
LAHAD DATU: The search and rescue (SAR) operation for a man reported missing following a crocodile attack at Kampung Sungai Silabukan, here, on Sunday is continuing.
Salim Sakka, 50, is believed to have been attacked by a crocodile while fishing in the river.
According to the State Fire and Rescue Department, the Lahad Datu Fire and Rescue Station received a call at 9.40am on Monday informing that a man was attacked by a crocodile at Kampung Sungai Silabukan.
A team of personnel led by Lahad Datu Fire and Rescue Station Chief Sumsoa Rashid was deployed to the scene. The SAR operation also involved the police, Wildlife Department and the public.

Read more The department said the victim’s son saw his father was attacked by the crocodile while fishing in the river.
“The team carried out the SAR operation using the surface searching method covering a radius of 2km from the location where the victim was reported missing.
“The search was postponed at 6pm on Monday and resumed at 7.30am on Tuesday, but the victim is yet to be found,” said the department.
