FLOODWATERS that affected parts of Manila on Wednesday afternoon had receded by 5 p.m., but light to moderate rainfall continued, according to the Manila City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Department (MCDRRMD).
In its latest flood monitoring update, the MCDRRMD said no flooded areas remained in the city as of 5 p.m.
Earlier in the day, the agency reported gutter-deep flooding at the northbound lane near Quirino Station leading to the walkway.
The affected road remained passable to all types of vehicles before the floodwaters subsided.
The MCDRRMD said other parts of Manila had no reported flooding in its subsequent monitoring reports.
Meanwhile, the agency said the city experienced light to moderate rainfall as a low-pressure area continued to affect Metro Manila.
In a localized rainfall advisory issued at 2:10 p.m., the MCDRRMD said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) had placed Manila and nearby areas under the Yellow Rainfall Warning, with moderate to heavy rain expected to persist for two to three hours.
Also, the agency advised motorists to exercise caution over the slippery roads and urged residents to avoid flooded areas whenever possible.
