MANILA, Philippines — The Manila city government activated its “Oplan Libreng Sakay” on Monday, Sept. 28, as the three-day transport strike by Manibela got underway.
As of 6 a.m., three vehicles were checked in at the Incident Command Post at Kartilya ng Katipunan in Ermita, Manila, the city government said.
The Manila City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Department (MCDRRMD) said the vehicles would be deployed once reports of stranded passengers are received.
“Let's stay on standby for the route for now. Once we have reports of stranded passengers, that's the only time we will establish a route,” it said in Filipino.
