MANILA, Philippines — Manila City Mayor Francisco “Isko” Moreno Domagoso suspended the face-to-face (F2F) classes at all levels in both public and private schools on Saturday, August 29.
In an advisory issued on Friday, Isko said that the suspension was based on the recommendation of the Manila City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Department (MCDRRMD), as the southwest monsoon (habagat) continues to be enhanced by a typhoon outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
"Upon recommendation of the Manila City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Department, I am ordering the suspension of all classes in all levels in public and private schools on Saturday, August 29, 2026," Isko said.
He added that according to the MCDRRMD, light to moderate rainfall, at times heavy, is expected throughout the day Saturday through Sunday morning.
Isko advised schools to shift to alternative delivery modes (ADM) of learning.
