- West Yorkshire Police confirmed the German Shepherd was seized and remains held in police kennels.
- Ellis, of Blacker Lane, Wakefield, was remanded into custody ahead of an appearance at Leeds Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.
- Specially trained officers are providing support to the family of the victim.
