PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has extended the appointments of Public Works Secretary Vince Dizon and Transportation Acting Secretary Giovanni Lopez, Executive Secretary Ralph Recto said Wednesday.
Recto said Marcos will submit the appointment papers of the two Cabinet officials to the Commission on Appointments (CA) for confirmation.
“As secretary of finance, I went through the same process. Vince also went through it when he was secretary of the DOTr (Department of Transportation). We extended the appointments of Secretary Dizon and Secretary Lopez at the appropriate time,” Recto said.
The extension allows Dizon and Lopez to continue performing their respective duties.
Dizon was appointed secretary of the Department of Public Works and Highways in September 2025, replacing Manuel Bonoan, who resigned amid government investigations into alleged irregularities in flood control projects.
Lopez, meanwhile, assumed the role of acting DOTr secretary following Dizon’s transfer to the DPWH.
