
MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has issued a series of proclamations declaring special non-working days in seven municipalities and two provinces throughout the month of October.
The proclamations—signed by Executive Secretary Ralph Recto—were declared for residents to participate in their local festivities.
On October 1, special non-working days will be observed in Gloria, Oriental Mindoro, for its Founding Anniversary and Kawayanan Festival under Proclamation 1461, as well as in Santa Monica, Surigao del Norte, for Adlaw Nan Santa Monica under Proclamation 1462.
Mountain Province will hold its Provincial Indigenous People's Day on Friday, October 2, pursuant to Proclamation 1463.
Proclamation No. 1455 declared October 14 a special non-working day in the town of Victoria, Laguna, to commemorate their 77th Founding Anniversary and the 25th Itik Festival.
Meanwhile, the Founding Anniversary of Antipas, Cotabato, will be celebrated on October 14, under Proclamation 1459.
Marcos has also issued Proclamation No. 1456, which declared October 15 a special non-working day in Jiabong, Samar, to celebrate its founding anniversary.
On October 16, special holidays take effect in Negros Oriental for the Buglasan Festival under Proclamation 1457 and in Culaba, Biliran for its 73rd Founding Anniversary under Proclamation 1464.
The month’s designated local holidays conclude on Tuesday, October 20, when Pigcawayan, Cotabato, marks its 73rd Founding Anniversary and 5th Padayaw Festival under Proclamation 1465.
