Marcos tells senators: Get back to work

MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Wednesday urged senators to "get back to work" after the Senate failed to convene for two days due to an impasse between the majority and minority blocs.

"The Senate and its leadership, the whole Senate is in disarray, it has discredited the leadership and it has stopped the essential business of legislation and government," Marcos said during a media interview in Malate.

"The Executive and Judiciary are working, why did the legislature decide to stop working?" he added.

Marcos said the Excutive was "examining all of their options" on what it can do with the Senate impasse.
