STATE Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun advised all parties, especially politicians, to stop talking about politics because it is not an important matter to discuss at this time.
He said the focus now should be on how to develop and help the people affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
“Some are busy with politics but there is no result. Like ‘tin kosong’, it sounds loud but there is no content,” said Masidi when opening a new store, Lee Nyap Auto Parts Sdn Bhd, at Kiaburi Plaza in Ranau.
Masidi, who is also Karanaan Assemblyman, stressed that there will be an election every five years when political leaders can go all out to debate on politics and voice out their opinions.
“When that time comes, we can spend weeks just talking about politics…now is not the time.
“This is the time to find ways to develop Sabah, especially their respective areas.
“We see some leaders spending much time on social media condemning others. There is no point in tarnishing other people when oneself is not perfect and still fails to develop one’s own area,” he added.
According to him, the people should be wise in evaluating and choosing leaders who know and work hard instead of talking a lot but do not see the results of their work.
Also present at the event were Home Affairs Deputy Minister II cum Ranau MP Datuk Jonathan Yasin, Appointed Assemblyman Datuk Amisah Yasin and Masidi’s Political Secretary Datuk Micheal Yahya Dunggi, among others.
Meanwhile, Masidi commended the diligence and hard work of Lee Nyap Group Sdn Bhd and urged others to emulate the accomplishment of the company as well as its noble initiative to share its success with the community.
“This shows the company has done a great job in providing good services and products to the people here.
“Having been in business for about 35 years is nothing short of an achievement resulting from strong commitment and perseverance.
“Let this be an example, not only to other auto parts dealers, but also to other business establishments, especially to those owned by locals, so that you would follow the success story of this company,” he said.
