MATUNGGONG: Efforts to elevate Matunggong from a sub-district to a full district are now in the final stage, according to Matunggong Assemblywoman Datuk Julita Majungki (pic).
Julita, who is also Women, Health and People’s Wellbeing Minister, said the primary remaining requirement is reaching an agreement on boundary lines with Kota Marudu and Kudat before moving to the next phase.
Julita noted that as an elected representative within the government, she has greater access to help advance the proposal, though all administrative procedures and requirements must be strictly followed.
She added that PDM Kandawayon and the 11 other polling district centres in the constituency will receive priority for development applications based on localised needs, including community facility requests.
Meanwhile, 10 former Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (Star) Matunggong members, led by former Star state strategic director Paul Porodong, officially submitted applications to join Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) during the same event.
