Chris McCullough and Jordan Heading provided the spark TNT sorely needed in the payoff quarter to subdue Meralco, 103-95, en route to claiming a pivotal 3-2 series lead in their PBA Season 50 Commissioner’s Cup best-of-seven semifinals on Friday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
McCullough dropped 17 of his game-high 42 points in the fourth quarter, while Heading added eight in the same stretch to turn an 83-83 count into a 94-85 lead heading into the final five minutes.
The big offensive shook the Bolts whose comeback attempts fail to gain ground as the Tropang 5G found a way to pull off the win and regain the series lead.
The 6-foot-10 McCullough had an underwhelming TNT debut last Wednesday that saw his team succumbed to Meralco, 101-90. In Game 5, he shot 16-of-28 from the field and pulled down 11 rebounds.
Heading added 22 points and six assists as Roger Pogoy added 16 points.
