
Kota Kinabalu: Media practitioners must not fear reporting on corruption cases and should play a more active role in supporting the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), said Kamaruddin Mape, a member of the MACC’s Anti-Corruption Advisory Panel (PPPR).
Kamaruddin who is also a seasoned media professional, said the importance of the media not only in reporting enforcement actions but also in advocating for integrity and prevention.
“As a representative from the media appointed to the PPPR for the 2024–2026 term, I see firsthand how vital media involvement is.
“Reporting should not only focus on arrests and court cases but also on education and awareness-building,” he said during the Cakna Rasuah media engagement in Sabah, on Thursday.
