MEGAWORLD Corp. fully leased 24 office towers across its township developments in the first quarter, a development it said underscored continued demand for large-scale office spaces from business process outsourcing (BPO) firms, multinationals and corporate tenants.
The buildings span key developments in Metro Manila, Pampanga, Iloilo, Cebu and Davao, covering about 430,000 square meters of leasable space and housing roughly 80,000 workers, Megaworld said on Monday.
Megaworld Global Offices head Francisco Roxas said demand remained strong within integrated township developments, which combine business spaces with residential, retail and lifestyle components.
Leasing activity was said to have generated P3.8 billion in office revenues during the first quarter while nearly 100,000 square meters of office space were taken up by BPO firms and multinational tenants.
The company also said it secured almost 80 percent of lease renewals due this year during the period.
The company's shares slipped P0.06, or 2.94 percent, to close at P1.98 each on Monday.
