Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson believes that Newcastle United made a shrewd signing in Anthony Gordon.
The winger joined from Everton in the January transfer window for a mega fee.
While he has yet to score for the Magpies, he has impressed in his two appearances so far.
"I didn't realise he was that good," Merson said on Soccer Saturday after Newcastle's 1-1 draw with Bournemouth.
"I knew he was a winger, saw how quick he was when I watched him play, getting the ball to him, watch him open up the space.
"But some of his football there was unbelievable, just passing it, give-and-go. He just looks so intelligent and clever, similar to [Callum] Wilson, the way he gives it to the lad playing behind the front two."
