Middle school students successfully stop moving bus after driver loses consciousness

  • A group of middle school students in Hancock County, Mississippi, successfully intervened to stop a moving bus after its driver lost consciousness.
  • Bus driver Leah Taylor, 45, suffered an asthma attack and passed out behind the wheel on 23 April.
  • Surveillance footage showed five students working together, with one grabbing the wheel, another applying the brakes, and a third calling 999.
  • One student administered medicine to Ms Taylor, and the group collectively kept other passengers calm until emergency services arrived.
  • Ms Taylor has since recovered, and all five students were commended for their heroic actions at a Hancock Middle School pep rally.
