
Tuaran: A 15-year-old boy who was reported missing at Sabandar Beach here was found drowned Thursday morning.
District Fire and Rescue Station Chief Mohamad Nor Amit said firefighters and family members discovered the victim’s body at 5.50am.
Advertisement“The victim was found on the shore, approximately 700 metres from the last reported location, on the second day of the search and rescue (SAR) operation,” he said.
The teenager was pronounced dead by the Health Ministry and his body was handed over to the police for further action.

Read more According to Mohamad Nor, the SAR operation involved 15 personnel, including Kota Kinabalu Zone Water Rescue Team (PPDA) members, a fire engine, a boat and an Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) utility vehicle.
“The SAR operation was also assisted by the Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM), the police and local villagers,” he said.

The victim was first reported missing at 5.48pm on Wednesday while swimming with his family at Sabandar Beach.
