Monza president Silvio Berlusconi has admitted interest in unhappy Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo.
However, Italy's former PM concedes Ronaldo is unlikely to be interested in joining the Serie A new boys.
He said, "It will take us some time, we have tried to strengthen the team. We hope not to disfigure and place a few steps beyond the relegation.
"We made 13 purchases and I am the one who pays.
"Cristiano Ronaldo is leaving United? Lucky him, but we never thought about him, these great players don't come to a newly promoted team."
