Morni residents on Wednesday complained of poor roads, lack of power supply and clean drinking water during a grievance redressal camp attended by Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini.

The camp was held at Government Polytechnic College there. While Saini resolved a few complaints on the spot, he assured quick resolution of others. Taking cognisance of the delay in the installation of an electricity transformer to resolve the low-voltage issue in Tikkar Hills gram panchayat, Saini directed the Electricity Department to register an FIR against the contractor concerned.

He also ordered strict action against the official found negligent in the execution of the work. He directed to install transformers wherever required besides asking officials to undertake the repair of power lines.

Acting on a complaint regarding alleged irregularities in a street construction work in Babarwali village, the CM directed that the matter be thoroughly investigated. He instructed that the work be completed expeditiously. Taking note of complaints regarding delays in the construction of the Samlotha–Jiaghat road, the Chief Minister directed officials of the Public Works Department to commence the construction work immediately. He said approximately Rs 2.36 crore should be made available for the project through the Shivalik Development Board.

Responding to the demand for upgrading the Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Morni to a Community Health Centre (CHC), he directed that the existing building be expanded and developed into a multi-storeyed facility.
