
TAWAU: A 19-year-old was killed when his motorcycle crashed at Simpang 5 Jalan Sungai Tajong roundabout at 6am on Tuesday.
Tawau District Police Chief ACP Jasmin Hussin said the victim succumbed to severe head injuries on the spot.
Initial findings showed that the man was heading to his workplace at Kompleks Fajar from his home in Kg Kongsi 8.
The motorcyclist was believed to have crashed into the road barrier.
Police urge those who witnessed the incident to come forward to facilitate investigations.
Members of the public initially alerted police about the incident at about 6.23am.
Meanwhile, in TUARAN, a man and a woman sustained injuries when the lorry they were travelling in crashed near Kg Koporingan, Tamparuli, Tuesday.
Ramshi Mastan, 34, sustained injuries to his legs and arms, while the woman, whose identity has yet to be established sustained serious injuries in the 3.30pm accident.
Both were sent to the Tuaran Hospital.
Tuaran District Fire and Rescue Station Chief Abdul Qawie Abdul Gapar said a team was deployed to the scene following a 3.40pm distress call.
The team applied early aid on the duo who were then sent to the Tuaran Hospital for further treatment.
The operation ended at 4.44pm after the team made sure the area was safe from hazards.
