PUTATAN: Motorists travelling long distances for the holiday season and Hari Raya Aidilfitri have been urged to exercise caution due to ongoing road construction in Sabah.
Deputy Chief Minister cum State Works Minister Datuk Shahelmey Yahya highlighted construction work along the Pan Borneo-Sabah Highway, particularly between Ranau and Semporna and near the Tawau Checkpoint.
He also warned of traffic congestion and construction activities from Kota Kinabalu to the Berungis roundabout in Tuaran, affecting routes WP6, WP7, and WP8.
Motorists are advised to remain vigilant, follow road signs, and prepare for potential challenges on the road.
Shahelmey said this while launching a state-level road safety campaign at Dumpil Bay on Monday, where he also distributed road safety brochures and helmets to motorists.
