The Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO) invites audiences to a special evening of classical elegance and vocal brilliance performed by soprano Hera Hyesang Park this November.

The first half of the evening is dedicated to the dramatic and playful world of Gioachino Rossini, the Italian composer renowned for his operatic flair and unforgettable melodies. The MPO will perform highlights from some of Rossini’s best-loved operas, including the comedic brilliance of The Barber of Seville and The Turk in Italy, as well as the more dramatic excerpts from The Siege of Corinth and William Tell.

Also on the music cards are Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 4 in G Major, a work that blends pastoral beauty with philosophical depth. Known for its radiant charm and restrained orchestration, this symphony ends with a sublime vocal finale — a child’s vision of heaven expressed through a poignant lied.

Taking centre stage for this final movement is celebrated South Korean soprano Hera Hyesang Park, making her MPO debut. Acclaimed for her “radiant, seemingly effortless singing” (The Times), Park brings a rare combination of expressive clarity, tonal nuance, and dramatic presence. A graduate of Juilliard and rising star on the global opera stage, her performance is anticipated to be a highlight of the season.

Tickets priced from RM229 to RM379 with Suite Seats priced at RM439/RM499 per seat (inclusive of light refreshments). Details available at the DFP Box-Office.
