American firm MSP Sports Capital are still hoping to invest in Everton in the coming weeks.
The New York-based investment fund appears likely to buy a minority stake in the Toffees, which could be around 20 to 25 percent.
Per the Liverpool Echo, MSP have remained at the table to negotiate with Everton owner Farhad Moshiri.
Italian outlet Tutto Mercato has also stated that another financail group, 777 Partners, may want to invest in Everton.
While that has not been officially confirmed, a senior figure at the company did admit they were looking at Premier League teams for investment purposes.
Everton fans will be hoping that signfiicant investments can be made in the first team squad and infrastructure in the coming years.
