PN chairman Muhyiddin Yassin lashed out at Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim after he refused to comment on the alleged existence of an "addendum order" for Najib Razak to serve his prison sentence under house arrest.
Muhyiddin said Anwar was a "stupid" prime minister if he did not know about the matter, which was allegedly made by former Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah.
"Strange and unusually, when the prime minister was asked about the addendum pardoning Najib, he said he did not know. How does the Malaysian prime minister not know about it? If (indeed) the prime minister does not know, it means he is really stupid," said Muhyiddin, according to Malaysia Gazette.
He had earlier spoken at Bersatu's Aidilfitri Open House in the Fraser Valley in Kuala Kubu Bharu.
Former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak was the subject of an extra house arrest order, and the media had previously reported that the Prime Minister was unwilling to discuss the matter.
According to Anwar, this was because the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and the Malay Rulers were parties to the case, which fell under the purview of the Federal Territories Pardon Board.
Prior to this, Najib's assertion that he had an amendment order from the 16th Yang di-Pertuan Agong allowing him to serve the balance of his prison sentence under house arrest was backed by UMNO President Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
Using an affidavit submitted to the Kuala Lumpur High Court on April 9, the Deputy Prime Minister provided backing for the claims.
In the meantime, Muhyiddin stated that the country needed to be freed from the reckless leadership's activities, which is why PN's victory in the Kuala Kubu Bharu state by-election was significant.
"The people are facing hardships, and Tatakelola is already at sea. The purpose of this by-election is to give the populace a chance to caution the Madanon administration.
"Many promises are announced but not fulfilled; just open their mouths to lie," he stated.
He claims that numerous Cabinet ministers had previously participated in announcing Najib's pardon procedure.
