Muhyiddin Yassin, the chairman of Perikatan Nasional (PN), has voiced his concern over Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim's reluctance to engage in the dispute regarding Najib Razak's house arrest. At a press conference during the Bersatu Aidilfitri Open House Council in Kuala Kubu Baharu, Muhyiddin emphasized the need for Anwar to address and resolve the issue promptly, especially given the apparent discord among government leaders.

Referring to Anwar's previous statement wherein he declined involvement in the dispute concerning an alleged "additional order" for Najib's house arrest, Muhyiddin expressed worry over the lack of unity among government officials. He highlighted the significance of government leaders presenting a cohesive stance on critical matters, particularly those involving legal proceedings and integrity issues.

Muhyiddin underscored the importance of transparency and accountability in governance, suggesting that the public deserves clarity on the government's position and the individuals responsible for decision-making. He criticized the ambiguity surrounding the government's response to the dispute, emphasizing the need for clarity and decisiveness from the Cabinet and the Prime Minister.

Moreover, Muhyiddin questioned the sincerity of the government's allocation of resources to opposition representatives, citing concerns about the memorandum of understanding (MoU) governing the allocation process. He argued that the allocation should be unconditional and not contingent upon an MoU, emphasizing the government's responsibility to alleviate the people's burden, especially during crises like the COVID-19 pandemic.

Muhyiddin's remarks underscore the need for unity, transparency, and accountability within the government, particularly concerning matters of legal proceedings, integrity, and resource allocation. He challenges Anwar and the government to address these issues decisively and transparently, emphasizing the importance of upholding governance principles and serving the best interests of the people.

Furthermore, Muhyiddin's criticism highlights broader concerns about the stability and effectiveness of the government's leadership. The lack of consensus among government officials on crucial issues raises questions about the government's ability to govern effectively and address pressing challenges facing the nation. Muhyiddin's call for clarity and unity reflects growing concerns among the public about the government's handling of key issues and its commitment to upholding democratic principles and accountability.
