To date we have heard from various sources like RPK (Raja Petra Kamaruddin) who said PMX's allegations of Muhyiddin's RM600 billion misappropriation was ridiculous, ill-founded, and meant to smear the previous administration.

But on 15 February, the former PM himself addressed the issue of a shifting target levelled against him in Parliament by Anwar Ibrahim, the PMX.

Speaking in Parliament over the King's address, Muhyiddin finally spoke on billions that Anwar alleged was misappropriated during BERSATU-led Perikatan Nasional government.

As a preamble, he said that the current government is on a witch-hunt. "They keep looking for wrongdoings by the previous administration that do not exist."

Muhyiddin accused PMX of spreading words that "I had misappropriated RM600 billion."

Then he added, "After that he (PMX) changed it, saying it was RM530 billion, then RM90 billion, then RM4.5 billion, then RM300 million,” prompting laughter from the Opposition bloc.

Anwar was in Turkiye so he missed out on the joke. “What is this? It was the PM, Tambun [Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim] (who) said it! From a legal point of view, this is defamation, I didn’t take any legal action yet, I pity him as a PM, so I give him chance first."

This has now become public knowledge that Anwar Ibrahim, our PMX might be on a "witch hunt" as Muhyiddin alleged because the PMX himself is not quite sure of the real amount. Or which witch told him what!

In the old days, the term witch hunt refers to "a searching out for persecution of persons accused of witchcraft".

But I think that's not what Muhyiddin meant here. He and his colleagues are not witches in hiding nor are they practising withcraft.

May be the second meaning currently in use is perhaps more appropriate.

Mirriam Webster defines it as "the searching out and deliberate harassment of those (such as political opponents) with unpopular views".

It's obvious to the ordinary man in the street that the current government is on a deliberate harassment of its political opponents levelling accusations that are so humongous that it has become unbelievable.

What is more ridiculous is that the amount keeps shifting.

According to RPK, even the RM300 million is nowhere to be found.

Meanwhile, the MACC has the audited financial statement of Muhyiddin Yassin's party BERSATU and the bank account that has since been frozen by investigating authorities.

So far, according to reliable sources, they have yet to find the missing billions!

Perhaps it's with the witch that has yet to be hunted down by PMX's witch hunters!

Anyway, all these allegations might be "because of the upcoming elections in six states, that he (PMX) wants to paint a negative picture of all of us (PN BERSATU-PA) as if we are robbers, so the people won’t support us" said Muhyiddin

“However, I believe the PN wave that we have seen in the past will continue to sweep through the whole country, in these six states,” he said

Muhyiddin could be right. The Green Wave might just sweep most of the states in coming elections proving that tall tales and witch hunting may not be the right political move for PMX.
