In the circus of Malaysian politics, Muhyiddin's grip on power plays out like a tragicomedy, where he is the stubborn star desperately clinging to a role no one else wants.
Picture Muhyiddin dreaming of a comeback—it's like expecting a unicorn to stroll through the tropical heat of Kuala Lumpur while PAS holds the magic wand, not Bersatu.
As Bersatu MPs cosy up to Anwar Ibrahim, deserting the party, it is a cue for Muhyiddin to exit stage left.
Yet, he stands there, unfazed, as if the dramatic tension is lost on him, convinced he is the political superhero the nation can not live without.
While he daydreams of a triumphant return, analysts roll their eyes—his chances are slimmer than finding a needle in a haystack, let alone a unicorn sunbathing in Putrajaya.
With court dramas and health woes shadowing him, even outsiders like Hamzah Zainudin or Azmin Ali become more appealing lead actors—the show must go on, sans Muhyiddin.
Bersatu's internal chaos turns it into a political sitcom in need of a rewrite.
Apparently, there is an ongoing struggle within the party that drives members into factions that will eventually lead to the disintegration of Bersatu. RPK predicted that Bersatu would follow the path of Semangat 46 deregistered after 8 years.
Muhyiddin's reluctance is portrayed as a stubborn quest to grasp onto power, as if it is the last piece of chocolate in a box.
Will he gracefully bow out, or will this political farce continue with more plot twists?
Or will he consult his wife yet again like he did after announcing to quit at the last party, AGM? He said it was his wife who advised him to continue as party president.
Only time will tell, but the audience is rolling their eyes, popcorn in hand, waiting for the punchline. When? When? When?
