Between teasing the death of a major character and leaving many messy storylines untied, the finale of My Life with the Walter Boys season 2 had a bit of an open ending. Which, as a matter of fact, has rattled fans so much that they need a season 3 already!
Adapted from a Wattpad original story, the Netflix series is a typical teen drama with a love triangle involving two brothers. While season 1 was a direct book-to-screen adaptation of the story, the plot of My Life with the Walter Boys season 2 was an open ground for the writers to dig deeper since Novak only came out with a sequel, My Return to the Walter Boys, a few months before season 2 aired.
As Jackie returns to Silver Falls after her summer in New York, she tries to make amends for leaving while also navigating her conflicting feelings for both Alex and Cole. Meanwhile, Cole goes back and forth with accepting his new life as an assistant coach, and Alex delves deeper into his passion for rodeo, looking for sponsorships.
So, who does she choose in the ending of My Life with the Walter Boys season 2, and what happens to Alex and Cole?

Do Alex and Jackie get back together?
Yes. Halfway through the second season of the YA story, Alex and Jackie get back together in a weird secret relationship where they kiss in secret. Alex, forgoing any self-respect, forgives his ex-girlfriend, who cheated on him with his brother, and tells her that he loves her. Again.
While Jackie doesn’t say anything, the two begin a secret relationship that lasts the rest of the series until the finale titled “Showdowns and Sparkles”.
So, who does Jackie finally choose?
In the finale, after their individual arcs have been wrapped up, Cole brings the team to victory as assistant coach, Alex qualifies for the sponsorship, and Jackie finally feels a sense of community in Silver Falls — all the children are gathered in the living room.
Cole, who has been acting off with Jackie ever since he saw her and Alex, continues to avoid her gaze. But soon, when everyone starts discussing his win and SAT scores for college, things escalate. Cole, who had lied to Jackie about not getting his SAT scores, leaves the room when she asks him why he didn’t tell her. Jackie follows.
Outside, the two begin hashing out their feelings. Cole questions Jackie about why she is really with his brother when he thinks they had something. Jackie tells him that he makes her feel out of control, and she doesn’t want to feel that way. But then, he tells her, “I love you,” to which she replies, “I love you.”
Dear readers, just a few episodes ago, she had said, ‘I love you, too’ to Alex as well. Anyway, continuing.
After her long declaration of love for Cole, a third voice is heard asking, “You love him?”
It’s Alex. Cue dramatic music.
But that’s not the end of it. The trio don’t even get to talk it out, as soon as Will (Johnny Link) comes back from searching for their father with an ambulance in tow.
Is George dead in the ending of My Life with the Walter Boys season 2?
Well, we don’t know.
The show ends right as Will arrives with an ambulance. However, if we are to go by the little hand twitches George (Marc Blucas) had in the earlier episodes, along with the chest pain and stress because of the ranch, it seems like it was a heart attack. But it’s still in the air if he’d make it, or not and we will only know for sure in season 3.
What about the other Walter boys?
Well, not all the Walter boys got a proper story or much screen time. But the ones that did had interesting arcs.
Will, who has always been very directionless in life and needs to find something to tinker with, finally feels as though he has something of his own with the ranch project. However, when George takes that away, he feels aimless again. However, when Will’s wife Hayley (Zoë Soul) returns from Chile, she suggests that the town might be too small for his ambition. So, it would be interesting to see if the two would leave now, given the incident with Will’s father.
Nathan (Corey Fogelmanis), who had a triangle of his own with Skylar (Jaylan Evans) and Zach (Carson MacCormac), eventually ends up losing both. First, Nathan cheats on Skylar with Zach. The two break up, and Nate starts going out with Zach. But then it turns out Zach only dated Nate because he wanted to get back with Skylar, as the two share history. After Nate realises his fault, he tells Sky that he loves him. Sky returns the sentiment but refuses to get back together with him since he cannot trust him anymore.
This triangle is so much spicier than Jackie’s.
Isaac (Isaac Arellanes) comes into his own as the quarterback of his school team. Danny (Connor Stanhope) gets back together with Erin (Alisha Newton), citing that they needn’t focus on the future and just enjoy what they have for now.
What happens to Jackie’s friends?
Well, we already know what happens to Skylar.
As for Kiley (Mya Lowe), Alex’s best friend, she gets together with Cole’s friend Dylan (Kolton Stewart) in the finale. Both of their individual stories were also explored in the second season, with Kiley’s grandmother’s arc and Dylan’s relationship with his father.
Grace (Ellie O’Brien), who is otherwise always happy, has an outburst as she has been struggling with her parents’ divorce. At one point, she gets so frustrated with Jackie, because of her tumultuous romance, that she yells at her, “Maybe you should just pick a boy!”
And honestly, same. Just pick a boy, please.
