NABAWAN: Several landslides due to heavy downpour cut off roads recently from Kampung Sabinait to Pensiangan town and Salinatan.

District Officer Peter Jiton said the district Public Works Department (JKR) sent two machines (backhoe) to the scene and maintenance work began on Thursday.

“In order to speed up the work, JKR sent another excavator” he said when contacted by Daily Express after he, Pagalungan sub-district Assistant Officer Francis Stephen and JKR staff conducted a survey at several landslide locations on Thursday.

However, maintenance work was not going smoothly due to unpredictable weather conditions.
