NAIA security cameras now under NNIC control

THE Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) on Friday turned over the operational control of more than 2,100 closed-circuit television cameras at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) to the New NAIA Infra Corp. (NNIC).

In a statement on Saturday, the MIAA’s Media Affairs Division said that the move was in accordance with the provisions of the NAIA Public-Private Partnership concession agreement.

The turnover was witnessed by Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon, MIAA Senior Assistant General Manager Ma. Lourdes Reyes, and NNIC Executive Assistant to the President and CEO Cesar Chiong.

The transfer of operational control forms part of the transition of NAIA’s operations and maintenance responsibilities to NNIC as the private concessionaire, pursuant to the concession agreement.

The MIAA will continue to perform its regulatory and oversight duties.
