
JOHOR BAHRU – The nation will always remember the services, dedication and contributions of the late Tun Dr Hasmah Mohamad Ali throughout her life.
Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi said her passing was a great loss not only to her family but also to the country.
“My condolences to the entire family. May they be given strength, fortitude and patience as they face this deeply sorrowful time.
“On this occasion, I would like to appeal to all Bangsa Johor to join us in praying that Allah shower His mercy upon the deceased, forgive her sins, accept her good deeds and place her among the righteous and faithful,” he said in a social media post.
The late Dr Hasmah reportedly passed away at about 9.20am today at the National Heart Institute (IJN) at the age of 100.
Born on July 12, 1926, Dr Hasmah was among the earliest Malay women to qualify as a medical doctor and had served in the public health sector.
