KOTA KINABALU: Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Musa Aman and Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Haji Noor attended a Tahlil, Thanksgiving Prayer and Solat Hajat ceremony in conjunction with Sabah Day and National Day (pic).
The ceremony, attended by about 1,000 congregants, was held at the State Mosque in Kota Kinabalu on Friday.
The event began with the recitation of Surah Yasin led by State Masjid Imam Suhaidi Kuanting, followed by a thanksgiving prayer led by Sabah Mufti Datuk Ustaz Bungsu @ Aziz Jaafar, who also delivered a sermon titled “Jiwa Merdeka: Perjuangan Belum Selesai” (A Free Spirit: The Struggle Is Not Over).
Sabah Islamic Religious Council (Muis) deputy head Datuk Ustaz Malai Ali Malai Ahmad also delivered a brief religious talk. The congregants then performed Friday prayers followed by Solat Hajat, led by Suhaidi.
