Newcastle boss Eddie Howe admits he faces tough selection calls ahead of the Premier League kickoff.
Howe was speaking after their preseason win against Fiorentina on Saturday.
He said: "There are several for me. Tough calls that I have to make, which is a good position to be in. You don't want the team to pick itself. Although it may look like what you want it's not in reality. I'll have some tough calls to make this week to get an idea of my team, hopefully, it's a winning team.
"I was happy with that, in pre-season games you always hope to come through with no injuries. Fingers crossed we've done that. We've a few tired bodies naturally after another 90 minutes.
"We are looking stronger physically and we will get to our optimum level after another week of training."
